DESCRIPTION
The church façade of the Orvieto Cathedral is thought to be nearly perfect, and the interior provides an equally striking feast for the eyes including the “reliquiario” Christian relic containing the Shrine of Corpus Christi and Signorelli’s fresco cycle that served as inspiration for Michelangelo’s Last Judgement in the Sistine Chapel.
Apart from these attractions, Orvieto also boasts two famous wines – a white called Orvieto Classico and a red called Sagrantino di Montefalco, hand painted ceramics, and high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Spend some time curving through the town’s quaint alleys before stopping for lunch in a local trattoria to indulge in the homemade pasta, truffles and wine known throughout the region. Afterwards you will meet your driver to complete your ride to Tuscany.
